Actionplan.

The meeting was chaired by Yang Bin, Vice President and Dean of Tsinghua University, and Executive Director of the Institute of Global Development of Tsinghua University. Qiu Yong, President of Tsinghua University, and Enggartiasto Lukita, Minister of Trade of Indonesia, made keynote speeches from the perspective of China and Indonesia. The “One Road” initiative recognizes and introduces the practices and experiences of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative in their respective countries.

Qiu Yong pointed out that the "Belt and Road" is a great initiative put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping. Its core is to realize the common development, common security and common prosperity of countries along the line and related countries. Looking back on the past, the “One Belt, One Road” initiative has been proposed for more than three years. More than 100 countries and international organizations have actively responded to the support. More than 40 countries and international organizations have signed cooperation agreements with China. Chinese enterprises have invested more than 50 billion in countries along the route. The US dollar, a series of major projects, has blossomed, which has driven the economic development of various countries and created a large number of employment opportunities. Facing the future, in May 2017, China will host the “Belt and Road” international cooperation summit forum in Beijing to further promote pragmatic cooperation with countries and regions along the “Belt and Road”.

Qiu Yong’s speech triggered a strong resonance among the Chinese guests at the meeting. Many representatives believed that the Chinese experience not only applies to China, but also has great value for other countries. Yan Bin, deputy general manager of China Investment Corporation, pointed out that the case of CIC in Azerbaijan shows that the “Belt and Road” is not only beneficial to developing countries, but also provides support and assistance to developed countries. Therefore, CIC will support the development of countries and regions along the Belt and Road, from the perspective of cross-border investment and cross-border M&A, and support and investment in key areas. Compared with Mr. Qi Bin's investment experience, Academician Wang Hao of the Chinese Academy of Engineering introduced the importance of water resources management in the countries and regions along the “Belt and Road” from a technical perspective, and shared China's advanced technology and management experience. Wang Hao said that at present, the total population under the highest level of water pressure in the world is 2.5 billion, and the land area under the highest level of water pressure is 30%. If there is no revolutionary change, this is already severe. The reality will continue to deteriorate rapidly. China continues to pay attention to water resources research. Currently, China uses a global total of 6% of water and 9% of land to feed 20% of the world's population, and has successfully solved the water problem. At present, China manages water resources from the eight levels of the omnidirectional perspective, including water security, water supply, water environment, water ecology, water landscape, water culture, water management and water economy. At present, Tsinghua University and Shenzhen Century Xingyuan Group have made subversive technological breakthroughs in the field of water research, greatly improving sewage treatment capacity and reducing sewage treatment costs. In the future, we will further integrate the new generation of biochemical technology and membrane technology, and promote advanced technology to the “Belt and Road” countries and regions to create benefits for residents along the line. In the view of Academician Wang Hao, the Chinese experience may be an important "prescription" to promote the recovery of the world economy.

Therefore, Professor Williamson suggested focusing on the core issue from the perspective of how to build a “Belt and Road” ecosystem, namely how to improve the quality of life of residents along the line. At the same time, it is recommended to pay attention to the capacity building (Capacity Building) and the improvement of soft power, and reduce the transaction cost through the improvement of the law. Furthermore, improving leadership development is also critical to the improvement of the Belt and Road Ecosystem.

Young-hoon Kim, co-chairman of the World Energy Council and president of the Dacheng Group of South Korea, highlighted the opportunity to promote the “Belt and Road” cooperation in the energy field and believed that the “Belt and Road” provides a rare opportunity for international energy cooperation. Countries along the “Belt and Road” should strengthen energy cooperation and stimulate the energy potential of the “Belt and Road” to achieve common development services for countries along the route.

Ms. Cherie Nursalim, Vice Chairman of Singapore Jiatong Group, said in her speech that General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech on supporting globalization has received wide support and recognition. People have seen China as a responsible leader on the world stage. . Taking the cooperation between Jiatong Group and Tsinghua University as an example, she analyzed the achievements of the cooperation under the “One Belt, One Road” strategy and proposed a specific action plan.
